Premise

The new series – set in 25 BC – will pick off where the last series left off. Neighbours Cynthia and Metella, having been saved from deportation, look set to move elsewhere in Rome in an attempt get away from Marcus. Fans may remember he eventually ended up conducting a romantic relationship with each of girls, without the other initially knowing.

Meanwhile the fate of their unscrupulous landlord will be revealed – Karl Theobald’s character was last seen being chased into the countryside by a pack of dogs, having escaped from prison.
