Walt Disney Studios producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure) have teamed up again, to present the epic fantasy comedy, The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Inspired by the 1955 classic Disney animation of the same name, the film stars Nicholas Cage as Balthazar Black, a master sorcerer, who recruits a reluctant protege played by Jay Baruchel to help him vanquish the powers of evil, in the shapes of his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina) and the powerful spirit of Morgan la Fay, played by Alice Krige.

Led by VFX Supervisor, Adrian de Wet, CG Supervisor, Graham Jack and VFX Producers Moriah Etherington-Sparks and Tracey Leadbetter, the Double Negative team worked on a significant bulk of the visual effects for the movie, including the live action Fantasia sequence with animated mops, sponges, detergent bottles and CG water. The team also created the Final Battle sequence with the ensuing fire and plasma, the pentagram and the eerie, spectral Morgana.

Other work includes a well-known brass bull statue that comes to life and attacks Balthazar in New York, the training sequences, Merlin's circle and the Tesla coil effect.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice opens in the US on July 14th, 2010 and in the UK on August 13th, 2010.
