Hobbs has Dominic and Brian reassemble their crew to take down a team of mercenaries: Dominic unexpectedly gets convoluted also facing his presumed deceased girlfriend, Letty.

Against all odds, the billion-dollar “Fast & Furious” franchise is actually picking up momentum, with “FF6” clocking in as the fastest, funniest and most outlandish chapter yet.Chicago Sun Times

Film Background

The 6th instalment of the franchise finds our heroes spread across the globe, most financially flush but unable to return to the US. Hobbs has Dom and Brian reassemble their crew in order to take down a mastermind who commands an organisation of mercenary drivers across 12 countries. Payment? … Full pardons for all.

A fast paced, adrenalin rush, Fast & Furious 6, took the franchise to a new level of action. From the tank heist to the Antonov take down, harpoons and car chases in London and heady racing action in locations across the world it was our job to complement the stunt work and live action and ensure that superhuman acts performed by our heroes were anchored firmly in a believable, if incredibly audacious, real world.

DNEG’s VFX

For FF6’s spectacular and varied set pieces to work our contribution to it had to be seamless. With a shot count of 1800 and locations in London, Glasgow, Liverpool (all standing in for London), air bases Bentwaters and Bovingdon, Moscow and Tenerife our work ranged from the subtlety of blue screen comping London skylines outside one of our heroes’ hideouts, to taking down an Antonov AN-225 and having Dominic (Vin Diesel) driving a car out of its nose cone as it explodes. Overall co-VFX Supervisor David Vickery and VFX Producer Ann Podlozny headed up our work on Fast & Furious 6.
