The Virtual Production Innovation Series

Behind The Scenes of an Industry-First Virtual Production Collaboration

We’re thrilled to offer an inside-look at the collaboration behind the Virtual Production Innovation Project.

Created as part of an industry-first partnership between DNEG, Dimension and Sky Studios, the Virtual Production Innovation Project showcases state-of-the-art virtual production technologies, workflows, and creative concepts. Filmed at ARRI‘s mixed reality stage in Uxbridge, West London, with support from partners Creative Technology and NEP Group, the project is designed to help upskill the creative community by demonstrating the advantages and versatility of virtual production.

Directed by two-time Oscar-winner and DNEG Creative Director Paul Franklin (InterstellarInception) and lensed by DPs Dale Elena McCready and Robert Payton, the collaboration builds on the pioneering virtual production work that the project partners are already delivering across film and episodic programming.

We’re pleased to share an inside look at the project through the Virtual Production Innovation Series, a six-part documentary series. Released weekly, episodes will cover everything from Lighting, Tracking, and Simulcam to In-camera effects, Scanning and 3D Photospheres.
