“Greenlight offers an accelerated pathway
into high-end VFX work at DNEG.”

Vic Wade, Global Head of Training

The Greenlight programmes deliver intensive dedicated training, live production experience and mentoring with existing DNEG artists and supervisors. Greenlight has been designed to offer the support and expertise to fully realise the potential of the next generation of VFX artists.

We are looking specifically for applicants open to learning and development for the duration of Greenlight and beyond. Successful applicants will be expected to work alongside and collaborate with other crew in a professional industry environment and stretch themselves to deliver both training and live production tasks to the highest standard.

The programmes run in a number of disciplines, dependent on the need in each of our locations. Past routes have included 3D Generalist, Compositing, LookDev-Lighting, FX Animation and Creature. Successful Greenlight trainees are paid for the duration of their programme and are regularly offered extended contracts on completion into junior artist roles.

Greenlight opportunities and eligibility.

Graduate and Internship Scheme

The Graduate Scheme (London and Vancouver) is open to graduates of VFX or Animation courses, who completed their studies within the past two years, and with less than 12 months of professional experience.
The Internship Scheme (London and Montréal) is open to students who are about to enter their final year of a VFX or Animation degree.
To be eligible for the scheme, you must already have the right to work in the host location. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas and work permits for the scheme.
Graduates and Interns are paid for the duration of their placement. We support fair access to opportunities for all.

Application and Assessment

Please apply to Greenlight on the links below, and follow us on social media for news of future scheme openings for applications.

If your application is shortlisted, you will be required to attend an assessment day in person. At the assessment day, you will give a short presentation on your showreel, followed by a Q&A session with members of our team. There will also be a speed interviewing session and a chance to mingle with DNEG artists.

DNEG Greenlight 2020 has unfortunately been postponed, and we will no longer be accepting applications at this time. As one of the world’s leading VFX studios, we are dedicated to bringing in top junior talent into the business, stay tuned to find out more about the new Greenlight launch and dates by keeping an eye on our social media channels and website.

Follow our social channels (Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn) to stay up to date with all of our latest news.

Assistant Technical Directors (ATDs)

If you love coding, scripting and developing tools, then the ATD position offers up the opportunity to progress through our Pipeline group as a Pipeline Technical Director and Pipeline Supervisor. If you are highly technical, with solid Python skills, and have an appetite for innovation then this is the route for you.

As an ATD you will assist the Pipeline TDs to ensure the smooth running of the tools, software and workflows used on our award-winning VFX and Feature Animation shows. You will be working closely with the Pipeline TDs to provide face-to-face support for artists.

Entry-level roles in the VFX and Animation industry are very competitive. DNEG aims to support those interested in pursuing a career in the industry by offering Running opportunities. Runners at DNEG play a central role in the smooth running of the studio. Alongside supporting the entire DNEG team as part of our Facilities or Technology teams, you will have access to training and support to help you move up the ladder.

As a Runner, you could be on the pathway to Academy-Award winning success. Just like DNEG’s very first Runner, now Academy Award winning VFX Supervisor, Pete Bebb.

Other past DNEG Runners are now supervising some of the most highly anticipated projects in production. Some have been key to setting up new global studios. The sky’s the limit.
