Compositors at DNEG work closely with VFX Supervisors and 2D Supervisors to composite the numerous elements that complete a visual effects shot, including live-action and computer graphic elements. The work will vary from blue/green screen extractions to complex CG integration. Taking part in client reviews and daily sessions, our Compositors follow production methodologies and develop creative approaches to problem-solving while also performing all aspects of composite FX design.
FX TDs at DNEG gather a variety of 3D assets produced by our Build, Layout and Animation departments and use off the shelf software – primarily Houdini but also Maya – and custom pipeline tools to create particle, rigid body, fluid, cloth, fur and hair simulations.
A Lighting Technical Director at DNEG is someone who possesses a thorough knowledge of 3D Computer Graphics. From years of experience in shot finishing on broadcast or feature film projects, you will have developed an ‘eye’ for the work. You will have a good working knowledge of art, design and film lighting, as well as a solid technical grounding in ray tracing or path tracing renderers.
Production Coordinators at DNEG aid the smooth running of high-end VFX feature film projects through supporting the production and supervision team, ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of information.
The Technology department at DNEG is responsible for the smooth running of the entire IT estate of this fast-paced and dynamic visual effects company. Technical Support’s remit includes every aspect of hardware and software provided to employees across our global network, diagnosing and resolving issues arising from production applications. Support is provided via telephone, email or in-person once a ticket is submitted and it is the Technical Support department’s responsibility to track all tickets and issues through JIRA.
