As DNEG’s Head of Real-time Technologies and Research, Luis Placid integrates cutting-edge advances into the filmmaking process via integration and exploration of new approaches within the Real-time Virtual Production space. Bringing fresh perspective and a drive for collaborative work, Luis quickly adapts his experience to accelerate the film process and provides artists with the best tools to fulfil their creative goals.
Prior to joining DNEG, Luis worked for over a decade in AAA Game development which includes a strong track record of Custom Engine and workflow development across titles such as ‘Halo: Infinite’, ‘Rise of Nations: Extended Edition’, ‘EA’s UFC’ and others.
In addition to working at DNEG, Luis is currently on the Board of Directors of PvP Entertainment Guild, a non-profit BC organisation focusing on connecting industry experts, mentors and consultants with underrepresented voices; paying forward the opportunities he has been given through his career.
