Our premiere DNEG Connect event in Bengaluru was a huge hit!

On 25th March, 2023, we hosted our first-ever #DNEGConnect event, partnering with the Bengaluru SIGGRAPH Chapter and ASIFA India. The event, held at the Good Shepherd Auditorium in Bengaluru, was an incredible success, with tech and VFX enthusiasts being treated to a visual feast of stunning visuals and cutting-edge technologies.

Merzin Tavaria, our President of Global Production and Operations, delivered a captivating keynote speech, sharing his personal journey and the studio’s remarkable achievements in creating visual effects and animation for feature films, television, and multi-platform content. Merzin emphasized our studio’s passion for pushing the boundaries of creativity and technology to deliver unparalleled visual experiences for audiences worldwide.

The event featured some of the industry’s most distinguished speakers, including Paul Franklin, Senior VFX Supervisor and multiple Academy Award®-winner, who showcased the studio’s revolutionary approach to visual storytelling. Paul Salvini, our Global Chief Technology Officer, discussed technological advancements in the world of VFX, followed by Martine Bertrand, Senior AI Researcher at DNEG who spoke on revolutionizing visual effects production with virtual production, real-time technologies, and artificial intelligence. And Muralidhar Sridhar, Senior Vice President of Prime Focus Technologies, spoke about the transformation of the M&E Industry with AI and ML.

Jigesh Gajjar, Head of VFX, DNEG India, shared fascinating behind-the-scenes stories about the visual effects work on the Oscar-winning film Dune. He explored the intricacies involved in creating the impressive creatures that played a crucial role in the film, showcasing the breadth of our award-winning work. And Vivek Reddy, Co-Founder of Viga Entertainment, shared insights on the engineering behind Hollywood VFX on behalf of the Bengaluru SIGGRAPH Chapter.
