Film Background
The team behind “The Da Vinci Code” have returned to bring us its sequel, Angels & Demons, based on Dan Brown’s novel of the same name. Tom Hanks reprises his role as Robert Langdon, once again pitted against the murderous Illuminati, an ancient and ruthless group determined to bring down the Catholic Church.
Directed by Ron Howard (The Da Vinci Code, A Beautiful Mind), Angels and Demons takes the viewer on an unfaltering, action-packed search through crypts, cathedrals and even the Vatican itself, in Landon’s race against time to stop impending disaster. Double Negative joined the chase early on, working with VFX Supervisor Angus Bickerton and VFX Producer, Barrie Helmsley. The Double Negative team was led by VFX Supervisor, Ryan Cook, VFX Producer, Fay McConkey, CG Supervisor, Graham Jack, and 2D Supervisor, Victor Wade in the creation of outstanding visual effects, including a seamless Vatican environment and the mesmerising antimatter explosion.
