Upon his return to his ancestral homeland, an American man is bitten, and subsequently cursed by, a werewolf.

The Wolfman avoids what must have been the temptation to update its famous story. It plants itself securely in period, with a great-looking production set in 1891.Chicago Sun-Times

DNEG’s Work

Double Negative worked on an array of shots for The Wolfman, director Joe Johnston’s (Jumanjii, Hidalgo) eagerly awaited version of the classic horror story. The Wolfman, stars Benicio Del Toro as Lawrence Talbot, the young man who suffers under the curse of the Werewolf, with Sir Anthony Hopkins cast as his mysterious father.

Double Negative’s work was spread across approximately 350 shots from multiple scenes and included 3D and 2D work from the iconic moon shots through to environments, matte paintings, moving statues, the ‘youthification’ of Hopkins’ character for flashback sequences and the ‘wolf-vision’ effects.
