As a Senior Researcher, Computer Vision and Machine Learning at DNEG, David Swart uses computer vision to solve problems by coming up with new methodologies, and finding new ways to use existing solutions.

Prior to joining DNEG, David worked at Northern Digital Inc and Christie Digital where he was a key developer for camera and projector calibration, photogrammetry, object tracking, and warping, blending and stitching displays together; and Miovision where he was a senior team member of the computer vision team, using machine learning to turn traffic video into usable data, focusing especially on user-facing issues.

David is also an active member of the Math-Art community and on the program committee for BRIDGES, an international interdisciplinary conference that explores the connections between Mathematics and the Arts for which he was the program chair for 2017, and 2021.
