DNEG was the lead stereo vendor for the show, providing conversion services for 2,104 shots. ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ features some highly detailed CG environments which needed careful handling in the conversion in order to fully immerse viewers into this fairy-tale world. Many of the environments in the show contained multiple layers of particles and foliage which all needed appropriate breakup in stereo to create a seamless and believable 3D environment, alongside hundreds of CG characters of various sizes which all needed to be accurately placed in depth and proportionately volumized.
