We are delighted to announce that Rupert Porter has been promoted to Head of Production for Canada, with oversight of both the Vancouver and Montreal studios.
Based in DNEG’s Vancouver studio, Rupert has managed DNEG’s team of VFX Producers on films such as ‘Blade Runner 2049’ (winner of the Academy Award and BAFTA for ‘Best Visual Effects’ in 2018), and ‘First Man’, this year’s VFX Oscar winner. Rupert joined DNEG in 2005 and has been VFX Producer on a number of DNEG’s milestone projects over the years, including ‘Children of Men’, ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. The World’ and ‘Man of Steel’.
In his new role, Rupert will support the Head of Production and management team in Montreal, helping to better connect the Vancouver and Montreal facilities. Throughout his time in Vancouver, Rupert has built good relationships with many of our clients and he will help to manage interactions with the studios around Montreal-based work.
Rupert will work closely with Olly Money, Head of Production in London and Lee Berger, EVP and Head of DNEG in Los Angeles, to drive DNEG’s production capabilities and ensure that all of DNEG’s clients receive unparalleled levels of experience, attention-to-detail and service.
Namit Malhotra, DNEG CEO, commented: “I’m delighted to announce the promotion of Rupert, which further strengthens our production leadership team across the globe.
“As content creators across film and television increasingly turn to visual effects to support their storytelling aims, promoting and developing our production teams has never been so important. I am proud that DNEG is home to some of the industry’s finest, and together we are dedicated to building an unmatched collaborative offering for our clients.”
