Christopher Nolan’s espionnage thriller ‘TENET’ premiered last weekend on big screens around the world and international audiences were eager to see the director’s latest work. The movie, starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, follows an unnamed CIA agent as he embarks on a dangerous time-bending mission to prevent the start of World War III.
Released on over 20,000 screens in 41 international markets, ‘TENET’ grossed more than 53 million dollars USD worldwide despite the pandemic, making it the number 1 film in the United Kingdom, France, Korea and Germany. It is set to premiere on September 3rd in the US & Russia, China on September 4th and 6 other international markets over next weekend.

In China, Guan Hu’s ‘The Eight Hundred’ continued to exceed box office expectations by grossing 69 million dollars USD during its second weekend since its release. The war pic has accumulated 277 million dollars USD since its Chinese release on August 21st.
The movie tells the story of the 800 Chinese soldiers who were surrounded by Japanese armies in the middle of Shanghai in 1937 during the Second Sino-Japanese War and features the work of DNEG VFX Supervisor Daniel Rauchwerger and the DNEG VFX team.
