We are thrilled and proud to let you know that four out of the five shortlisted shows in the ‘Visual Effects’ category for the 2019 EE BAFTA awards featured VFX by DNEG artists!
Congratulations to all of our artists and crews who worked on the following BAFTA-nominated shows:
- First Man
- Avengers: Infinity War
- Black Panther
- Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald

Special congratulations to DNEG’s VFX Supervisor Paul Lambert and Tristan Myles, DFX Supervisor, who were both named in the BAFTA nomination for First Man – Damien Chazelle’s epic moon landing blockbuster.
As lead VFX partner on First Man, Paul and team used a blend of cutting-edge in-camera VFX techniques, special effects, scale models, and never-before-seen footage from NASA’s archive to tell the story of Neil Armstrong’s journey to the Moon and back. Check out this featurette for a peek behind the scenes.
Other recent successes
Just last week, First Man won the Best VFX category at the Film Critics Society Awards VFX in both Houston and Seattle, as well as an award at The Capri, Hollywood International Film Festival.
All the winners of this year’s film BAFTAs will be announced on Sunday 10 February at a ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Good luck to all of the nominees!
