The Visual Effects Society (VES) has announced nominees for the 17th Annual VES Awards.
Congratulations to DNEG’s VFX Supervisors, artists and crews who were named in seven nominations.
Two of DNEG’s submissions received multiple nominations in different categories. They include the team who worked on moon landing epic, First Man, which was nominated for two awards: Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature and Outstanding Compositing in a Photoreal Feature.
Netflix Emmy-nominated, cyberpunk sci-fi Altered Carbon received nominations in three categories: Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode; Outstanding Effects Simulations in an Episode, Commercial, or Real-Time Project and Outstanding Compositing in a Photoreal Episode.
Venom and Bohemian Rhapsody also received VES nominations. Check out the list below for nominees’ names.
Each year, the VES holds its prestigious awards celebration to recognise the outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation in film, animation, television, commercials and video games and the VFX supervisors, VFX producers and hands-on artists who bring this work to life.
All of the nominations for the 24 categories were selected by panels of VES members at events held in 11 global locations.
The winners will be announced on February 5th.
