Led by DNEG VFX Supervisor Stephen James and DFX Supervisor Nick Marshall – who were on hand to pick up the award alongside Alex Wang and the rest of the nominees at the ceremony this weekend – and VFX Producers Lauren Weidel and Jess Brown, our Episodic crew delivered 534 shots across seven of the series’ nine episodes.
As a lead VFX partner on The Last of Us, our key sequences included crafting extensive exterior environments to showcase cities during and after modern civilization being destroyed by a sweeping infection. Our team grew ivy, constructed skylines, built mountains, and destroyed buildings to bring iconic locations from Naughty Dog’s video game to life!
You can explore their award-winning work in our DNEG DeepDive session here, and enjoy our VFX Breakdown below!
Our heartfelt congratulations goes out to our award-winning teams – we’re so proud to see their hard work celebrated – and to everyone else involved in bringing this amazing project to life!
And a huge congratulations to our The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power team, who were also nominated in the same category, and our DNEG Animation team who were nominated in the ‘Outstanding Animated Program’ category for their work on Entergalactic.
